The European Hematology Association (EHA) and the European Patient Advocacy Institute (EPAI) have joined forces to launch the AYA (Adolescents and Young Adults) Patient Advocates Training Program. The inaugural workshop took place in München, Germany, on March 15-16, 2024, marking a significant milestone in empowering young advocates in the hematology community.
This collaborative initiative aims to equip participants with vital knowledge about hematological diseases, effective advocacy strategies, and collaborative techniques. The program offers a blended learning approach, combining virtual sessions with in-person workshops to provide a comprehensive and engaging learning experience.
As the program progresses, participants can look forward to upcoming virtual workshops and a hands-on session at the EHA Congress in June. These sessions are designed to further enhance advocacy skills and address the unique needs of young patients in the hematology community.
The launch of the AYA Patient Advocates Training Program underscores the commitment of EHA and EPAI to fostering a new generation of advocates who can make a meaningful impact in the field of hematology. With its focus on empowering young voices, this initiative holds immense promise for strengthening patient advocacy and driving positive change for young patients facing hematological diseases.
